Hi everyone.
Welcome to the September issue of the Rotary Radar.
August was an outstanding month.
Our first speakers of the month at the T&C were Jo and James Robinson. Jo and James wear many hats, in fact that was the topic of their presentation! Jo spoke about her flower business at their Scrubby Gully property as well as her podcast series. James spoke about the work of the Clyde Coastguard. A fascinating presentation and a great start to the month.
The highlight for me though has to be our sold out wine tasting event with James Dicey at Te Puna Mahara – Cromwell Memorial Events Centre. There were so many highlights
• James’ stories throughout the night. Very entertaining and engaging.
• The XL room was a superb venue. We were the first sit down event in the room. Here’s hoping it will be the first of many for us.
• The platters prepared by Kim at Moreish Kitchen were fantastic.
• The wine was outstanding.
• Did I mention it was a sell out 😊
James was recognised with a PHF at the end of the night, a great finale to a great night. For me, it was a wonderful PR exercise for the club. A huge thanks to everyone who helped put the event together and to everyone who attended. The events committee are already working on future events at TePuna Mahara, watch this space!
I’ll be away most of September so a big thanks to Phil Henderson for stepping up to cover the presidential duties while I’m away. I look forward to catching up with you all again in late September when I’m back.
